Interact Conference 2010.
Hello Interactors! Many apologies for this very dead blog. However now that I am here, it shall be revived! :D
Okay, so from the 3rd to the 5th of Dec there was the 42nd District Interact Conference. This year it was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Seremban and held at the Royale Bintang Resort, Seremban.

10 out of our 14 BODs went. These lucky people were:
Sara, Melanie, Jo Anne, Lisa, Jasmine
And Tze Yun, Madeline, Yi Hua, Pei En, Charlene
If you wanna find out what's their posts go check under the BODs section. :P
This is all of us who went.
Another without Melanie and Jasmine.
We stayed in 2 duplex suites that had 2 stories. And nearly all of us screamed like mad cows when we first came in. It even had a staircase!

The view as you enter our duplex suite. :)
The ballroom where we had our sessions and formal night dinner.
Our table number! :D
Interact family photo missing 3 more BODs and all of our members.

Also, 1 of the MCs for Formal Night was none other than our very own Funding Director, Madeline! Don't have a picture of her MC-ing, unfortunately.
During formal night, the Senior BODs excluding Jo Anne and Madeline with Wey Leuk, an Interactor from MBSS.

General Update + Information about Nominations Process
Hello! *blows off the dust on this blog*
Sorry for the extreme lack of updates! We've all been busy with school and other stuff. Mid-terms and all, I'm sure you understand.
Throughout that all, Interact's been going underground, if you get my meaning. :D
No I don't mean illegal underground, I just mean, we've been keeping things on the down low. It may seem like we haven't got anything going on but that's far from the truth.
In late March, we started our nominations process. In April, the nominees were given the Sports Day project, as is tradition. To all the people who bought from Interact Club on Sports Day, thanks! You guys helped make the project a success. Also, from that project, we started to see the potential in our future BODs.
The nominees were also given a hand to plan the I.U Project. I myself am not too sure of the full details, but I hear it's going to be pretty damn awesome.
Other than that, the nominees were also given a task to plan two virtual projects. About 2 weeks after Sports Day, they were asked to present one of those virtual projects. Personally, all of the teams impressed me in different ways. I can't divulge anymore than that, sorry!
Their next virtual project - the camp - will be presented after the holidays, if I'm not mistaken. Look forward to that, because if the plan is real good, we just might be planning the real thing!
Throughout the process so far, I personally have seen a lot of potential in the nominees. Some have impressed me, some have tried to impressed but failed, some have surprised me, some have warmed up to me and some have shown me their true colours. But all in all, I suppose the nominees this year aren't too bad a batch. (*sniffles* I still think my year had the best batch of nominees. :D)
BUT the nominations process isn't over yet! There's still the evaluation of the I.U. Day Project as well as their interview. MUAHAHAHA, I've been waiting for this day forever!! HAHA. Don't worry, I'll try to be nice. :)
Also, several Interact members joined the bowling competition held by Bandar Sunway Rotary about a month or so ago. I heard it was great fun but I didn't go, so I suppose you'll have to wait till one of those who did go decide to speak up about it. :)
P.S: Please keep an eye on the blog for updates on I.U Day. I really wasn't joking when I said I heard it's going to be awesome. No, srsly.

New School Year + What We've Done So Far + Future Activities
The new school year has started!
I'm sorry the blog is getting slightly dusty but now that school has started again, we're gonna have a lot more activities (and hopefully, more updates!).
This year's AGM was kept simple and it was quite a success, if I may say so myself. What really impressed me was that we had quite a number of people who turned up for the interview the next day. To those guys who turned up for the interview, THANK YOU! You have no idea how much that helped us to know your perspective on things and we're really grateful for that.
For those who didn't attend the interview though, no worries. As long as you frequently attend the meetings (remember to get your attendance from Int. Liew Sher Mun, the tall spiky haired dude), you are a member of the Interact Club. On the other hand, even if you attended the meeting but you do not come for the meetings nor do you actively participate in our activities, your name will be cancelled out.
Also, for those not in the know, today was our first official General Meeting of the year. We had a pretty decent turnout, with both familiar and new faces in the crowd. We had several announcements made about the I.U Project as well as the Friendship Day Project. We also had a little sketch about Italy and we all learned some new facts about Italy.
Did you know that we have the Italians to thank for smelling good? The cologne was invented by an Italian!
Members were moderately participative but I must commend the members for paying attention to us most of the time. :)
Special thanks to the members who helped out with the Italy sketch!
Oh and make sure you guys come for the next General Meeting! There might be another hilarious sketch like that. :D
In somewhat related news, there will be a Production for Friendship Day tomorrow (16-01-2010) from 8am to 11am at No. 93, Jalan SS19/4. Bring your stationeries, glue and scissors! For more details, please call Int. Sarah at 016-3160125 as she's the one in charge of this project. Thanks.

Project AID
Project AID: Appreciating Interactors Day! Started with a senamrobik session (thanks to Sher Mun who insisted we do it lest we wanted our legs to fail us and break) then a game of Captainball! The rain and mud did not deter us, as Team Cheese went agains Team Rollie Pollie Ollie.
Sher Mun briefing members about the game.
Later we played the infamous Table Talk, where we all got soaked to the bone!

It is fitting to say that Project AID has acheived its goal: to get to know members and bring them closer, the old-fashioned way, having LOADS OF FUN!
Waiiiiit for it.....
Anyone else welcome to upload pictures from the even here! My current uploader is being a tortoise.

Carpark painting
Wow. Interact blog is a bit dusty eh?
Us working!
Us still working!
Us fighting for paint and brushes to work! Am I conveying just how enthusiastic we were about it yet?? Hahah.
The end result. :D
All in all, it was good fun, good work and good company. And if you head to school and see bright yellow lines in the carpark, you'll know it was us. :)
- Geraldine
Well, luckily for y'all, we've been having quite a lot of activities lately which you might or might not know, depending on how active you are.
First up, PAINT THE CARPARK!
It was originally supposed to be a 3-hour thing, but we grossly underestimated and it turned out to be a four-day affair.
Although the whole thing took more time than we expected, I think all in all, for a bunch of unprofessional painters, we did quite an alright job with the yellow car park lines. Most of them are straight. :D
And the best part is, we got free food for helping the school! We don't get paid but we get a full stomach! Hahah.
Some pictures.
All in all, it was good fun, good work and good company. And if you head to school and see bright yellow lines in the carpark, you'll know it was us. :)

Venue : ss15 drive thru McDonald. I repeat, DRIVE THRU
Time : 10am

It's okay if you cant come dont worry about it! We're gonna be doing this tomorrow.
Things you have to bring :
1. Sharp scissors to cut fabric

Paint the Store project
Are you all free this Saturday??
Cause the 'Paint the Store' Project is this Saturday, guys! And your help will most definitely be greatly appreciated. :)
Details of the project are as follows:
Please try to be there, cause what else would you be doing on a Saturday morning?
(And don't say sleep. If I, possibly the most sleep-deprived person I know, can make it there, so can you.)
Nothing special really, just normal painting for the Interact store and the store behind the Chemistry lab. And srsly, don't wear anything too fancy. You might get paint all over it. =/
Alright, that's about it. In Bart Simpson's words, "Be there, or be square!"
