New School Year + What We've Done So Far + Future Activities

The new school year has started!

I'm sorry the blog is getting slightly dusty but now that school has started again, we're gonna have a lot more activities (and hopefully, more updates!).

This year's AGM was kept simple and it was quite a success, if I may say so myself. What really impressed me was that we had quite a number of people who turned up for the interview the next day. To those guys who turned up for the interview, THANK YOU! You have no idea how much that helped us to know your perspective on things and we're really grateful for that.

For those who didn't attend the interview though, no worries. As long as you frequently attend the meetings (remember to get your attendance from Int. Liew Sher Mun, the tall spiky haired dude), you are a member of the Interact Club. On the other hand, even if you attended the meeting but you do not come for the meetings nor do you actively participate in our activities, your name will be cancelled out.

Also, for those not in the know, today was our first official General Meeting of the year. We had a pretty decent turnout, with both familiar and new faces in the crowd. We had several announcements made about the I.U Project as well as the Friendship Day Project. We also had a little sketch about Italy and we all learned some new facts about Italy.

Did you know that we have the Italians to thank for smelling good? The cologne was invented by an Italian!

Members were moderately participative but I must commend the members for paying attention to us most of the time. :)

Special thanks to the members who helped out with the Italy sketch!

Oh and make sure you guys come for the next General Meeting! There might be another hilarious sketch like that. :D

In somewhat related news, there will be a Production for Friendship Day tomorrow (16-01-2010) from 8am to 11am at No. 93, Jalan SS19/4. Bring your stationeries, glue and scissors! For more details, please call Int. Sarah at 016-3160125 as she's the one in charge of this project. Thanks.

Paint the Store project

Are you all free this Saturday??

Cause the 'Paint the Store' Project is this Saturday, guys! And your help will most definitely be greatly appreciated. :)

Details of the project are as follows:

Date: 29th August 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30am to 1pm
Venue: Gather at the canteen!
Notes: Please wear something you don't mind getting dirty. You never know with paint. *winks*

Please try to be there, cause what else would you be doing on a Saturday morning?

(And don't say sleep. If I, possibly the most sleep-deprived person I know, can make it there, so can you.)

Nothing special really, just normal painting for the Interact store and the store behind the Chemistry lab. And srsly, don't wear anything too fancy. You might get paint all over it. =/

Alright, that's about it. In Bart Simpson's words, "Be there, or be square!"

General Meeting + BOD Meeting (21/8) + Miscellanous

Guys! Listen up!

GENERAL MEETING
Day/Date : Friday (21/8)
Place : 3 Gamma
Time : 12.30pm
About : Wishing Well Project! Paint the Store Project! And if we have time after that, GAMES! :)

For BOD members, pay close attention to this. President Zhiying has decided to have an official BOD meeting right after the previously mentioned General Meeting. Details as follows:

Official BOD Meeting
Day/Date : Friday (21/8)
Time : 1.30pm
About : We will be inviting our Rotarian Advisor to this meeting so if you have any qualms or questions about your job or your role to play in the Interact Club, you can ask him then. Place is yet to be confirmed.

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE BE THERE.

Oh yes, I also have a favour to ask of all you SMKSU Interactors! I've been thinking of changing many graphic-related stuff on this blog for a while now, but I never really got around to it because:

1. My laptop is best friends with Mr Laggity Lag.
2. Although my desktop is super fast, I only have Adobe Photoshop on my laptop.
3. I cannot find any suitable graphics.

Ignore the first two, I just need your help regarding the last. (Unless one of you will be willing to buy me a new laptop complete with Adobe Photoshop. Or just a new Adobe Photoshop CD since I can't find it anymore. Hahah)

If you come across any interesting graphics that remind you of the Interact Club, that you'd like to see be put on the blog as the header or as an icon or whatever, please let me know! You can contact me from my email, crazy4more_xcitemen93@hotmail.com

Your help will be greatly appreciated and quite frankly, desperately needed. Thanks! :)

And lastly, just for laughs, Neil Patrick Harris dancing with Elmo. Makes me laugh every time. Hahah!

Layout issues + labels mega post #2

Okay, so as you can see, I'm re-using the old layout for now.

At first I wanted to change it to something totally new. I was on the verge of using this layout titled Validity. I like the links that follow you around when you scroll around. Plus the header looks like the draft Nadia designed for the 09/10 name cards.

But I consulted our dear editor-in-chief, whom I shall now fondly refer to as Ed or Donuts, Nadia. And we had a nice little talk and decided not to use that and stick to this instead. In her words, this layout is 'very official, unique and clear cut'.

Who am I to disagree? It is my baby masterpiece. XD

But no fear, I am going to change some things around. I will change most of the graphics, including the header image, the icons and the cbox image. Also, I will try to change the fonts or whatever, make it look nicer. ^^

Another thing, this is another labels mega post! We're not quite there yet, but this blog is getting pretty ready for public transmission. So I might as well put it up. ^^ A beta version though. So give all your feedbacks and comments about what I'm doing here, okay?

Note. Exams are coming for me, so I won't be able to get the graphics done as quickly as I would like. In the meantime, just enjoy the new, more organized posts, okay?

- Gee

P.S : I'm running out of ideas for labels. Suggestions? Don't create them yourselves! Just suggest some in the cbox! Some examples are as below.

EDIT;;

People if this is the first time you are here, please read the previous post for a better understanding of what's going on! Sorry, forgot to mention. So sue me, it's 12am, my brain ain't working like it's supposed to.

TQ.
