Project AID

Project AID: Appreciating Interactors Day! Started with a senamrobik session (thanks to Sher Mun who insisted we do it lest we wanted our legs to fail us and break) then a game of Captainball! The rain and mud did not deter us, as Team Cheese went agains Team Rollie Pollie Ollie.

It is fitting to say that Project AID has acheived its goal: to get to know members and bring them closer, the old-fashioned way, having LOADS OF FUN!

Carpark painting

Wow. Interact blog is a bit dusty eh?

Well, luckily for y'all, we've been having quite a lot of activities lately which you might or might not know, depending on how active you are.

First up, PAINT THE CARPARK!

It was originally supposed to be a 3-hour thing, but we grossly underestimated and it turned out to be a four-day affair.

Although the whole thing took more time than we expected, I think all in all, for a bunch of unprofessional painters, we did quite an alright job with the yellow car park lines. Most of them are straight. :D

And the best part is, we got free food for helping the school! We don't get paid but we get a full stomach! Hahah.

Wishing Well Production

Hi guys!! I'm not sure if you guys know whats The Wishing Well Project about so let me tell you about it in afew words.

It's kinda like Friendship day. You order products for your friends to wish them good luck for exams!! (exam coming ma..) and no, sadly it doesnt require you throwing money into a well. Dont do that! :)

Anyway! To have products you gotta make them right? That's why we're having production! And there's gonna be a production tomorrow since its a public holiday and all :)

Venue : ss15 drive thru McDonald. I repeat, DRIVE THRU
Time : 10am
Date : MERDEKA!!

It's okay if you cant come dont worry about it! We're gonna be doing this tomorrow.

1. Sharp scissors to cut fabric

Conditions you have to obey :

1. Pick up every single rubbish
2. At least order SOMETHING.

McD wont be very happy if we take up their space, mess it up and not pick the rubbish lol! Anyways, I'm worried about not having a huge space for all of us to sit together, so come early! Or else we'll be separated lol.

Paint the Store project

Are you all free this Saturday??

Cause the 'Paint the Store' Project is this Saturday, guys! And your help will most definitely be greatly appreciated. :)


Details of the project are as follows:

Date: 29th August 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30am to 1pm
Venue: Gather at the canteen!
Notes: Please wear something you don't mind getting dirty. You never know with paint. *winks*

Please try to be there, cause what else would you be doing on a Saturday morning?

(And don't say sleep. If I, possibly the most sleep-deprived person I know, can make it there, so can you.)

Nothing special really, just normal painting for the Interact store and the store behind the Chemistry lab. And srsly, don't wear anything too fancy. You might get paint all over it. =/

Oh yes, I also have a favour to ask of all you SMKSU Interactors! I've been thinking of changing many graphic-related stuff on this blog for a while now, but I never really got around to it because:

1. My laptop is best friends with Mr Laggity Lag.
2. Although my desktop is super fast, I only have Adobe Photoshop on my laptop.
3. I cannot find any suitable graphics.

Ignore the first two, I just need your help regarding the last. (Unless one of you will be willing to buy me a new laptop complete with Adobe Photoshop. Or just a new Adobe Photoshop CD since I can't find it anymore. Hahah)

Interact Leadership Training Seminar

ILTS, Interact Leadership Training Seminar held at SMK SS17 this year. Had a chance to catch up with old friends as well as make new ones, besides learning the fundamentals of becoming a true Interactor!

President Lim Zhiying has been voted as Vice Chairman of ICC! :)



Thanks much to SMK SS17 for hosting this event, we know how much blood, sweat and tears you guys put into this! (since we hosted it last year haha) You guys were really hospitable and your school is really big and nice! :D

Bulletin Board + Meetings

Yo! I'm back. After a long hiatus of no updates, I promise I will try to be more active in posting here, hokay? Someone just has to, uh, remind me.

But I digress.

In case you haven't noticed, the Interact Bulletin Board has been given a makeover quite a while back. The work of our new Editor-in-Chief and Sub-Editor, Nadia and Ping respectively. Show them your appreciation and use your imagination check it out more often.

I like the Interact bear comic strip. It's so funny! I think the bear should be our new mascot. Hahah!

Ahem. Anyway.

The board is constantly updated, because Nadia works fast, so really, you should check it out more often for new information and stuffs like that. Also, just a little trivia for you, Nadia was the one who designed the pink Talent Quest flyers you see all over the school. She was also asked to design the backdrop for the Talent Quest event itself, but she turned it down due to time restraint and other priorities.

At any rate. We have a new feature on the new bulletin board, which is the simple yet effective calendar. The calender is changed every month, and it is filled with information like the days of BOD meeting, General Meeting, events and projects. Also, it lists the funny days we should be celebrating but aren't due to lack of knowledge; knowledge that we now have, thanks to Nadia and her calendar.

Did you all celebrate Speak-in-Rhymes Day on the 30th of June? I did. For about 10 seconds.

Nadia: Hey, it's Speak-in-Rhymes Day! Let's celebrate it with hay!
Me: .... Okay....

Right.

This month though, there are more hilarious days to celebrate, so make sure you go and check out the date on the Interact bulletin board!

While I'm here, I might as well inform/remind all of you about several things:

1. BOD members! There is a BOD meeting this Friday, 3/7, after school at 3 Gamma. And another one on 17/7, which is two weeks from now.

2. All other members! There are General Meetings on Friday, 10/7 and 24/7. Yes, we are alternating the General Meetings with the BOD Meetings so it should be easier for you guys to remember the date. All other details are as follows:

Time: 12.30pm

Place: 3 Gamma

3. I.U Day is sometime this month, so keep your eyes peeled for more news of that. Either on here or on the bulletin board.

Oh and one last thing before I go, for those not in the know, the Interact Bulletin Board is right beside the PMR Lab 1 (which also happens to be the class of the Club President Zhiying, Club Secretary yours truly, Club Treasurer Natalie and I.U. Director Phanit :D). And the PMR Lab 1 is beside the PMR Lab 2. And the PMR Lab 2 is beside the sepak takraw court. There you go. A succint map on where the bulletin board is. :)

General Meeting on 19 June

Alright. Guys! This Friday there will be a GENERAL MEETING (GM). Yes, first week of school reopening and we're already gonna get busy busy busy. All members of Interact, please try to make it!

Please come cause it's gonna be the new BODs running the show, and we're gonna tell you the events coming up soon and what we're planning for them. We've got lots of projects and things lined up, so come and see what's new and how you can help us. :) Even if you can't help us, just come and check it out, they're some pretty cool ideas. Trust me, cause I was there for all the discussions; they sound pretty damn awesome. Kakkoii!

And... your name tags are ready! So, BODs, please pay up RM 15 to Nat ASAP because I used my own money to pay the rest. =.=

Attention to all Form 4 BODs, there will be a meeting this wednesday after school until 2pm regarding hari keluarga. Mainly I wanna decide on what are we gonna be doing and where. zomg I almost couldn't sign in to the Interact account for about 1 hour.... scared me silly! O.O

Okie dokie, just a little update- BOD meeting on Friday (rajinnya, working on Labour Day) went smoothly, even if people were staring at the President and maybe stealing our strategies, too! LOL For those who could not make it and want to catch up to speed on what's going on, ask Geraldine or Sara for a copy of the minutes.

A reminder: ILTS (Interact Leadership Training Seminar) has been postponed to June, make sure you BODs get your awesome Men-In-Black uniforms by then! Also, since Mr Raja could not meet with us on Friday, the Rotarian meeting has been pushed back till further notice.

Our namecard design has been chosen! *mexican wave* Sub Editor Ping has sent it to be soft-copied, and apparently, since there are so many colours, it will be a little costly. But majority as no problem with it, so cross your fingers and hope it turns out perfect-o-mundo!

Yes as the previous post stated, i'm sarah ding your funding director! Honestly I dont really have the patience like rachel to put colours for fonts and such lol. I think its very ma fan :D

I sound very bimbotic and happy and like rainbows and butterflies but i'm actually not okay lol. I'm very quiet :O monologue sometimes too.... -_-

OK this post isnt about me! It's about what I expect/hope from you members - your help to make funding projects succeed. and also every other projects. I'm looking forward to getting to know every member. And i do wish everyone would just lend a hand in our projects.

As Funding Director, one of the main projects we have anually is Valentines Day/Friendship Day project. I'm sure many of you are quite familiar with how the process goes :

Go to the table, write your order, pay, recieve your orders on valentines.

I've actually thought of quite an interesting (and high tech lol) way to spice things up! I've decided to open a blog specially during our friendship day project period and have the order forms there! So that everyone or anyone could just order by just a click click click!

And of course payment need to be made the usual way :)

So yeah, tell me what you think about it! :)

Another kinda of a messy task is production. Which is when all this products are urm, produced? Honestly alot of members dont turn up during productions. But you have to! You got to! It's actually very fun to do stuff. To show your creativity and especially girls, i think you'll love it lots! I know I did this year :D thats why I picked this post as funding dir.! :D

I do hope you guys would turn up for productions in the future! Get involved and we'll all be happy together (lol i just crapped that)

Fund raising projects are coming up! (i think) Look forward to it just like i am :D

Reminder BODs!

It was determined in the BOD meeting today that the next BOD meeting will be on this Friday, 1st of May.

The details are as follows:

The meeting will take about 2 hours or so.

Please attend, yeah, cause Pretzel's gonna talk about the new way things are gonna be done from now on and also to brief the newer BODs about certain ways we do things. Yup yup, so I'd say this is pretty important.

I'm Rachel Priya, the incoming Community Service Director!
I'm guessing you know why I'm here already, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out =P

As the incoming Community Service Director, I've got a few ideas on the community service projects! But then again, I will definitely be needing your help so please don't forget to sign up for them. It's going to be lots of fun, I assure you ;)

We will be visiting orphanages, old folks home, doing car washes, a few school projects which I will first discuss with the rest of the BOD and we'll be visiting PAWS! :D I will also be planning a few major projects with the Rotary Club of Bandar Sunway, so get ready for a whole lot of fun and exciting events aite! :D

I'm so excited about every single project that I'm not sure which one should I do first! (:
